Assam: Policeman Shot Dead in Dhubri, Empty Cartridge of AK-47 Recovered

GUWAHATI: In a sensational incident, a policeman at Dhubri police reserve station was found in a pool of blood.

According to reports, the victim identified as Umesh Ch. Roy, a resident of Kachuakhana village, was serving as a police constable.

It is to be mentioned that the body found near Golakganj Tinali with marks of bullet injuries has created a ruckus among the locals.

Meanwhile, police recovered one AK 47 rifle and four rounds of empty cartridges and live bullets from the deceased constable.

Speaking to media, Dhubri additional superintendent of police Hiranya Barman said the entire matter is under investigation and “It is too soon to speak anything regarding the matter right now”.
