GUWAHATI: In a first of its kind in the parliamentary history of the state, the Assam Legislative Assembly is offering research internship to 20 students, who have been selected purely on merit, for a period of one month under the Speaker’s Research Initiative.
Hitendra Nath Goswami, the Speaker of Assam Legislative Assembly, speaking at the First Internship Inaugural programme held at the Central Hall of Assam Legislative Assembly urged the young generation to opt for politics as a career in order to serve the society.
Under this programme students of the state hailing from different colleges and universities will get an opportunity to research on selected topics related to the Assembly in an academic manner.
They will get access to the library and the archives in this regard and will make reports on their research findings. In this regard they will be guided by eminent journalist Samudra Gupta Kashyap, who is the project consultant of the internship programme.
