GUWAHATI: The Assam government has prohibited strikes in National Thermal Power Corporation Limited (NTPC) for a period of six months until further orders on September 25.
The notification prohibits strikes of the officers, workmen, contract labour, tanker driver and also khalasi involved in the service of National Thermal Power Corporation Limited in any establishment or undertaking with the production, supply and distribution of coal.
This prohibition comes under Section (3) of the Essential Services Maintenance (Assam) Act, 1980.
