Assam Cop’s Kind Gesture Garners Praise, DGP Announces Cash Reward

GUWAHATI: In a unique gesture, Assam cop Ratul Gogoi of 1 st Assam Police battalion (APBN) distributed pens to students appearing for the AHSEC class 12 examinations.

This kind gesture of Gogoi gained accolades for him from the netizens as his video distributing pens to the students who were going to appear for their examination on February 12 in Nitaipukhuri, was widely shared on social media.

The video also caught the attention of Assam DGP (director general of police) Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta, who announced a cash reward of Rs 10,000 for Gogoi. Appreciating the cop’s act, the DGP tweeted, “Shri Ratul Gogoi’s kind gesture has made all of us proud and will surely inspire others. It embodies the selfless spirit of service embraced by the Assam Police. To honour his act of kindness, we’ve decided to felicitate him with a cash award of Rs 10,000.”
