GUWAHATI: The anti-CAA protests spread to the Arya Vidyapeeth College on Tuesday with students showing their resentment against the legislation that came into effect from Monday.
More than 60 students staged a demonstration on the college campus at around 11:30 AM.

The students united in their stance against the controversial Act and staged the protest, voicing their concerns about its potential damaging impact on Assam.
The atmosphere was charged earlier in the day as police officials arrived at the scene around 9:00 AM, anticipating the student demonstration. As the protest started, symbolic dissent took the form of burning copies of CAA rules, reflecting the strong sentiments of the participants.

Talking to GPlus, Sajis Alam, the general secretary of Arya Vidyapeeth College, said, "We the students of Assam oppose CAA and will always stand against it."
The CAA enacted over four years ago became operational after the Centre notified the rules for it on Monday evening.
Cotton University students protested soon after.
