From illegal parking to encroachments and traffic violations, citizens are calling out city's road related issues. A commuter travelling from Bhangagarh to Beltola pointed out how the Last Gate area remains heavily congested mostly due to roadside vegetable vendors and parked vehicles, making it difficult for traffic to flow smoothly.

Another resident, sharing a photo on X (formerly Twitter), questioned the frequent misuse of footpaths by two-wheeler riders. “Is the footpath meant for walking or riding?” he wrote.

A separate post on X showed a car parked partially on the sidewalk at Barthakur Mill Road, Ulubari, with the caption: “See this car. Not even spared the footpath to park.”

In another instance, a video showed a heavy commercial vehicle driving through city roads during daytime hours. The X user wrote, "Another instance of a heavy commercial vehicle plying inside the city, during normal hours and with school children all around. Why does this keep happening? Is there no value of public lives?"

The series of posts reflect a growing discontent among Guwahati’s residents, many of whom feel that basic road discipline and civic responsibility are being ignored.
