Anomalies alleged in SEBA’s answer script evaluation

GUWAHATI: Students have alleged anomalies in allotting of marks in different subjects of their High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) examination by Secondary Education Board of Assam (SEBA).

The matter came to light after students sent their answer scripts for re-checking and they were returned after the marks were increased in a majority of cases.

Commenting on the matter, controller of examination at SEBA, Nayan Jyoti Sarma told G Plus that such anomalies are not uncommon given the scale at which these examinations are conducted.

“We are getting some anomalies in some cases but we have already given fresh marksheets to the students who sent their answer scripts for re-checking,” said Sarma.

He added that there were close to 25 lakhs answer scripts which were evaluated by 20000 examiners and there were bound to be some human errors.
