Akhil Gogoi to Launch Indefinite Hunger Strike in Jail

GUWAHATI: Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) leader Akhil Gogoi said that they would proceed with an indefinite hunger strike in jail from March 1.

According to reports, Akhil Gogoi, Dharjya Kinwar, Bitu Sonowal and Manash Konwar who were produced at the National Investigation Agency (NIA) court on February 25 said that the fight against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) will continue and have asked people to continue with the agitation.

Meanwhile, the clamour for the release of peasants’ leader Akhil Gogoi has reached Paris, France.

The supporters of Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) chief have recently put up huge banners in front Eiffel Tower in Paris demanding his immediate release.

Earlier, Akhil was arrested by Assam police in Jorhat on December 12, 2019 a day after the Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB) was passed in Parliament on December 11, 2019.
