Two Assam ADCs Suspended For Unauthorised Leave

 

GUWAHATI: The Assam Government suspended two Assam Civil Service (ACS) officers, Pinky Dutta and Jharnajyoti Patgiri, for unauthorised absence from their designated places of posting, on Tuesday, April 23. The suspension orders were issued by the Assam Governor Gulab Chand Kataria and are effective immediately.

According to a notification issued by the Department of Personnel (Personnel-A), Pinky Dutta was transferred and posted as Additional District Commissioner, Hailakandi, on December 9, 2023. However, she failed to join her new post and has been on unauthorised leave since December 21, 2023. As a result, she has been placed on suspension under Rule 6(1)(a) of the Assam Services (Discipline & Appeal) Rules, 1964, pending departmental proceedings. During her suspension, her headquarters will be Hailakandi.

Similarly, Jharnajyoti Patgiri was transferred and posted as Additional District Commissioner, Biswanath, on February 5, 2024. Like Dutta, she did not join her new posting and has been on unauthorised leave since February 6, 2024. The Governor has also placed her under suspension with immediate effect for the same reasons. During her suspension, her headquarters will remain in Biswanath.
