GUWAHATI: The State Level Committee for Assam Sanskritik Mahasangram 2023-24 has introduced a set of additional Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to govern various aspects of the upcoming cultural event. These new measures encompass multiple categories, including age relaxation, song selection, and performance guidelines, among others.
Here are the key points of the additional SOP for the Assam Sanskritik Mahasangram 2023-24:
Age relaxation for Ethnic Dance category:
For the age group, 12 to 18 years: Three instrumentalists without any age restrictions will be allowed to play instruments within a group of 15 members.
For the age group 19 to 24 years: Two instrumentalists without any age restrictions will be allowed to play instruments within a group of 15 members.
For the age group, 25 to 35 years: Two instrumentalists without any age restrictions will be allowed to play instruments within a group of 15 members.
Song selection: In the Sangeet Categories, no model songs will be suggested. Participants are required to choose songs with lyrics and tunes in any language written and composed by Jyoti Prasad Agarwala, Bishnu Prasad Rabha, Bhupen Hazarika, and Rabindra Nath Tagore.
Use of written lyrics: Participants can use written lyrics during their performance at the GP level only. In LAC level and higher levels, written lyrics are not permitted.
Song repetition: Winning participants are not allowed to repeat the same song in the next level of competition.
Dance categories: Recorded music or fusion songs and dances will not be allowed for performance at all levels.
Awards: The awards for GP level, LAC Level, and District Level competitions are as follows:
GP Level: Winning certificate for the top three winners in all categories, along with participation certificates for all GP level participants.
LAC Level: Winning Certificate, memento, and prize money for the top three winners in all categories.
District Level: Winning certificate, memento, and prize money for the top three winners in all categories.
The "Sanskritik Mahasangram," is being organised by the Cultural Affairs Department, which is scheduled to commence on October 25, 2023, and will run until February 7, 2024.
