GUWAHATI: In an operation, the Special Task Force (STF), Assam seized an SUV with hidden narcotics concealed on November 7 near Amingaon.
The STF acting on a tip-off indicated the transportation of narcotics from Manipur via an SUV conducted this operation which led to the bust near Amingaon.
The STF with a team led by Parthasarathi Mahanta, DIG, STF, along with Kalyan Kumar Pathak, Addl SP (HQ) Kamrup cum Addl SP STF intercepted the vehicle at Amingaon and uncovered narcotics concealed within secret compartments and chambers of the vehicle.
Upon inspecting the vehicle, the STF discovered narcotics stored and concealed within hidden compartments. A total of 36 packets of opium, with a cumulative weight of 36 kg were recovered during the operation.
Additionally, four individuals were suspected of involvement in the illegal narcotics trade and taken into custody. The individuals have been identified to be Safiqul Ali, Mamtul Ali, Raju Ajli, and Ainul Haque.
The apprehended individuals are now facing necessary legal action as we await further details.
