GUWAHATI: Eleven AC coaches of the 12551 Kamakhya Superfast Express travelling from Bengaluru derailed near Nergundi Railway Station in Cuttack, Odisha, on Sunday, March 30. The accident occurred around noon.

According to East Coast Railway CPRO Ashoka Kumar Mishra no injuries have been reported, and all passengers are safe. However, there were reports of at least one death.
The official said emergency response teams, including an accident relief train and medical equipment, were dispatched to the site.
Senior railway officials, including DRM Khurda Road and GM/ECoR, have rushed to the location.
While the cause of the derailment will be determined after an inquiry, the immediate priority is to divert affected trains and begin restoration.
Taking to the social media handle X (formerly Twitter), Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, stated, "I am aware of the incident involving 12551 Kamakhya Express in Odisha. @CMOfficeAssam is in touch with the Odisha Government and Railways. We will reach out to each and every person who is affected," tweeted Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma.
