GUWAHATI: In yet another incident of ‘moral policing’, four youths in Nitainagar village Assam’s Hailakandi district were brutally thrashed by an angry mob on Friday evening.
Reportedly, the youths were travelling in an Innova vehicle when the villagers suspected them to be kidnappers. The villagers thrashed all the four youth and later set their vehicle on fire.
Later police arrived at the spot and rescued the youths. Meanwhile, they have been admitted to the hospital and their situation is said to be critical.
In the recent years, the reports of ‘mob justice is on the rise.’ Last year, lynching of two youths from Guwahati, Nilotpal and Abhijit, shooked the state. Massive protests erupted all across Assam, demanding punishment for the culprits.
