A wanted rhino poacher was arrested in Nagaon district’s Samaguri area on June 5.
Akhtar Ali was apprehended in a joint operation conducted by Kaliabor police and forest officials on Wednesday.
It should be noted that Ali was arrested last month too, in a joint action by Jakhalabandha Police alongwith forest officials. However, he escaped from custody on May 12.

In another recent case, three rhino poachers were arrested from Bagori range of Kaziranga National Park (KNP) on May 29.
The arrest was made after a joint operation was carried out by the police, Kaziranga forest officials and Wildlife Crime Control Bureau (WCCB).
