GUWAHATI: Videos of retired Bangladeshi Army personnel making provocative anti-India remarks have gone viral on social media, further straining ties between India and Bangladesh. In these clips, the ex-officials assert that Bangladeshi forces could allegedly capture key Indian regions, including Assam and Kolkata, within four days.

One retired officer claims that a specialized group of 5,100 Bangladeshi personnel, backed by three million citizens, could swiftly take control of Kolkata and other strategic areas in India. Another video features a former official boasting about the Bangladeshi Army's readiness to "defend the nation" and "teach India a lesson," suggesting that their troops are trained for such actions.
These inflammatory statements come at a time of heightened tension between the neighbouring nations, fueled by allegations of violence and atrocities against minorities in Bangladesh. The videos have sparked concerns over the security of Indian territories, particularly in Assam and the northeastern regions.
