GUWAHATI: The Advantage Assam 2.0 business summit has resulted in the signing of 268 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) as of 2 PM of Wednesday, February 26.

Assam Minister Bimal Bora told reporters that among these, 36 MoUs are non-financial, focusing on knowledge sharing, skill enhancement, and collaborative partnerships, while the remaining 232 agreements involve financial investments contributing to the substantial investment figure collectively amounting to an investment commitment of ₹2.23 lakh crore.
Bora stressed that a thorough evaluation process will be carried out before the agreements move into the implementation phase. He also revealed that the Assam Cabinet has already given the green light to investments worth ₹1.22 lakh crore from the signed MoUs.
Speaking on the state’s economic initiatives, Bora noted that the government has been proactive in supporting the MSME sector and local businesses by maintaining close engagement with startups and rural enterprises. Additionally, discussions are underway with the Tripura Chief Minister to explore potential collaborations.
Bora also stated that 5851 indigenous entrepreneurs have signed MoUs in Assam’s MSME sector worth ₹10,921 crore.
Expressing confidence in the summit’s impact, he stated, "I am optimistic that our indigenous businesses, rural economy, and MSMEs will experience significant growth through Advantage Assam 2.0."
