A chaotic situation was reported during the Assam Legislative Assembly session on Thursday after Former Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi's request to discuss the issue of Women's University with State Education Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma was denied by the Assembly Speaker.

The Congress party members, who were not allowed to hold the discussion, were disappointed and went to protest against the same.

The members of Congress party protested against the issue using slogan 'Inquilab Zindabad,' and alleged that Himanta Biswa Sarma, who passed the bill for Women's University during the Congress regime, is now trying to reap political benefits by removing the status of 'University' and turning it into a technical institution.

The chaos and uproar in the Assembly house stalled the session proceedings for almost 15 minutes.
