GUWAHATI: Police have apprehended an ULFA linkman, identified as Surajit Moran, also known as Koliya, on extortion charges, on Thursday, January 30, in Pengeree, Tinsukia.

Moran had been illegally collecting money from businessmen across different areas of Tinsukia district by exploiting the name of the banned insurgent group.
Acting on reliable intelligence, authorities arrested him, and he was subsequently remanded in judicial custody.
Talking to GPlus, an official from Pengeree police said, “Koliya was an ULFA linkman and he used to be involved in many illegal activities such as extortion and such. We nabbed him based on specific intelligence from our sources.”
