GUWAHATI: Harmeet Singh has taken over as the next Director General Of Police (DGP), Assam on January 29.
Singh took over from ex-DGP GP Singh who has been appointed as the Director General of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), according to an order from the Personnel Ministry on Saturday, January 18.
He took to X to put out, “Took charge as @DGPAssamPolice from my elder brother @gpsinghips - with a deep sense of duty to serve the people of Assam. Grateful for the trust placed in me by Hon’ CM Sh @himantabiswa Sir. With the dedicated personnel of @assampolice, I am committed to implementing HCM’s vision of a force that stands for trust, safety, & progress - ensuring citizen-centric, effective policing. Jai Hind! Jai Ai Axom!”
