GUWAHATI: A man reportedly lost his life in a wild elephant attack in Dakurvita, Goalpara, on January 29 bringing to light the growing human-animal conflict in the area.

The victim, reportedly identified as Prakash Sen from Jyotinagar in Goalpara town, was fatally attacked when a herd of wild elephants wandered into human settlements, triggering panic among residents.
The region has been grappling with frequent clashes between humans and wild elephants, resulting in casualties and property damage, as per reports. Many villagers have been forced to flee their homes as elephants encroach upon agricultural lands and residential areas.
