Two Thieves Arrested In Guwahati's Jorabat, Stolen Items Recovered

 

GUWAHATI: A team from Basistha Police Station (PS) and Jorabat Outpost (OP) apprehended two veteran thieves near the Jorabat Naka Point on Monday, March 24. Acting on reliable intelligence, the duo was intercepted while traveling in a stolen four-wheeler from the Noonmati area.

The suspects have been identified as Babu Boro (19) and Babul Saha (23), both from Narengi Patharquarry in Noonmati.

Recovered Items:

- 12 heavy iron bars used in railway tracks
- 2 empty plastic oil drums, typically used for stealing diesel from parked vehicles
- 1 small cutter knife

The stolen iron materials were reportedly taken from Sector-1, while the plastic oil drums were intended for stealing diesel.

Further investigation is ongoing.
