GUWAHATI: Two gazetted officers allegedly implicated in the Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) recruitment scandal appeared at the office of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in Guwahati on December 26 for questioning.
Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Munna Prasad Gupta, the person heading the SIT, Munna Prasad Gupta confirmed the reports.
According to reports, Priyanka Deka and Jayanta Doley, both gazetted officers, faced the special investigation team's (SIT) inquiry related to their involvement in the APSC recruitment scam on Tuesday.
Reports also suggest that both officials were accused of securing recruitment through unfair means.
Additionally, both officials underwent rigorous questioning throughout the day as the government and investigating authorities aimed to expedite the resolution of the prolonged case.
Also, in the subsequent development, the SIT, responsible for investigating the APSC scam, has also summoned two more gazetted officers for questioning. Recruitment officer Gitartha Baruah and ACS officer Hiteswar Mazumdar are required to appear at the CID office in Guwahati on December 29, media reports stated.
