GUWAHATI: Amingaon police arrested Jagannath Das (22) and Bijoy Maloi (18) for allegedly raping a minor at Amingaon’s Post Office Colony in North Guwahati on February 1.
According to a source, the accused lured the six-year-old victim and took her to their room and allegedly raped her.
It is to be mentioned that the incident came to light when a local witnessed the incident and informed the police.
The girl’s parents later lodged an FIR at the Amingaon police, based on which the police apprehended the accused.
Police sources informed that the accused confessed the crime during interrogation.
A case has been registered against the accused under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012.
