Two Assam Police Officers To Head SITs In Manipur

 

GUWAHATI: Following the directives of the Supreme Court of India, and in the interest of public service, the services of two senior police officers from Assam have been placed at the disposal of the Government of Manipur to assume charge of Special Investigation Teams (SITs) constituted for addressing incidents in Manipur, as per official notification from the Governor on December 12.

The first officer, Anand Mishra, IPS (RR-2011), who currently holds the position of Superintendent of Police in Lakhimpur, Assam, will now take charge of an SIT in Manipur, in immediate compliance with the Supreme Court's instructions.

Additionally, the services of Randeep Kr. Baruah, APS (DR-1993), who serves as the Superintendent of Police (Border-11) in Assam, has also been ordered to lead SITs in Manipur in response to the court's directives.
