Traffic Restriction Announced Near Bhootnath For Completion Of Guwahati-North Guwahati Bridge

GUWAHATI: The Public Works Department (PWD) has announced the closure of some portions of MG Road at Bhoothnath and Machkhowa in Guwahati due to the ongoing construction of Guwahati – North Guwahati bridge being constructed over Brahmaputra. 

A part of the Guwahati-North Guwahati bridge which will connect Sonaram Field to Machkhowa bypassing Bhootnath point is expected to be completed soon.

The closure of certain sections of MG Road is aimed at expediting the construction of the new flyover, resulting in potential traffic congestion and diversions along the main road. 

Effective from February 19, traffic restrictions and diversions will be implemented to accommodate construction activities, posing challenges for commuters traversing through the affected areas.  

To mitigate inconvenience, commuters have been advised to consider alternative routes wherever possible to avoid delays and disruptions caused by the ongoing construction work.

The Guwahati Traffic Police have also issued the alert, urging residents and commuters to plan their journeys accordingly and adhere to traffic regulations during the construction period. 

 Commuters have been urged to exercise caution, plan alternate routes, and cooperate with authorities to ensure smooth traffic flow amidst the ongoing construction activities.
