Trade Promotion Of Assam's ‘Kaji Nemu’ Initiated Across Major Indian Cities

GUWAHATI: In a bid to enhance the reach and market presence of Assam's renowned Kaji Lemon, the Directorate of Horticulture and Food Processing, Assam, has initiated a specialised trade promotion programme across four prominent metro cities in India, including Delhi NCR, Pune, Mumbai, and Bengaluru.

Assam Agriculture Minister Atul Bora announced the launch of the “Kaji Nemu” trade promotion programme, highlighting the remarkable success of Assam's Kaji Lemon business on the international stage. With the aim of fostering both production and marketing, the Directorate is actively promoting the trade of this unique lemon variety in key cities.

The Kaji Nemu trade promotion programme, inaugurated earlier with the engagement of 40 marketing experts in Delhi, Mumbai, and Pune, covering 100 key locations, has now expanded its reach to Bengaluru. This strategic initiative is designed to elevate the state's agriculture and horticulture sector and position it as a robust source of income.

Scheduled from November 25 to 27 in Bengaluru, the programme is expected to draw attention to the distinctive qualities of Kaji Lemon, fostering collaboration and trade partnerships. Encouraging collaboration among stakeholders, Minister Bora emphasised the significance of promoting Assam's agricultural products on a national scale.
