GUWAHATI: The Assam cabinet has approved the operationalisation of four milk processing units under the Dairy Development Plan to boost the dairy sector in the state.

This was announced by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma following the state cabinet meeting held on Saturday, April 12.
The units located in Bokakhat, Dibrugarh, Jorhat, and Bajali will now come under the operational purview of North East Dairy and Foods Limited (NEDFL), a joint venture of the central and the state government. To facilitate this purpose, the cabinet approved the handover of infrastructure through the Dairy Development Department.
Another decision taken in the same meeting involved the sanctioning of ₹250 crore for completing seven cancer care centres under the Assam Cancer Care Foundation.
