GUWAHATI: Thieves looted an estimated cash of Rs 15000 from a bar and restaurant located at NH 37, Sonapur road and also destroyed a CCTV camera installed inside the restaurant.

The owners of Barcode restaurant, Kamarkuchi have lodged an FIR with Sonapur police station in connection with the case.  According to the restaurant owners, the incident took place late at night on July 16.

“When the cashier opened the restaurant this morning (Tuesday), he found that the cash box was broken. The thief used a cleaver (large knife) from the kitchen to break open the cash box,” Ashish Goel, a partner at the restaurant told G Plus.

Goel added that the CCTV camera installed above the cash counter was also found damaged.

The owners are suspecting that the thief entered through a small window in the bathroom as they found shoe marks on the commode.
