STF Assam Arrest Another Jehadi Under Operation Praghat 

 

The number of arrests under the ongoing Operation Praghat goes up to 14 

GUWAHATI: A wanted Jehadi extremist, Ajibar Rahman, aged 31, hailing from Chinamari, Dhubri was apprehended by the Special Task Force (STF) in its fight against fundamentalist and global terrorist organisations under Operation Praghat, on Tuesday, January 21.

The operation has yielded notable results, as with Tuesday's arrest, the number has gone up to 14; the arrested have been made in connection with Assam PS Case No. 21/2024 for their involvement in covert activities. 

Among those arrested are several Bangladeshi nationals. These individuals were allegedly operating under the guidance of Md Farhan Israk, a key associate of Jasimuddin Rahmani, the leader of the Ansarullah Bangla Team. One of the arrested, Md Sad Radi, also known as Shab Sheikh, hails from Rajshahi, Bangladesh, and had been sent to India to propagate extremist ideologies among like-minded individuals across the country.

The operation is underway as authorities work to identify and dismantle further threats.
