Special Ferry Services Introduced for Devotees on Maha Shivratri

GUWAHATI: Assam Inland Water Transport Department on the occasion of Maha Shivratri has allocated multiple ferry services from Kachari Ghat and Rajaduwar Ghat to Umananda Temple, from 5:30 AM on February 21.

It is to be mentioned that the a special ferry service has been provided from the Umananda commercial Ghat in order to ease devotees' commute. Meanwhile another service is arranged from the Lachit Ghat.

Earlier today devotees thronged the Umananda Mandir from 5:50 AM and reportedly the footfall will increase as the day breaks out.

Considering the safety and security of the devotees, speaking to G Plus, Pabitra Khaund, Director Inland Water Transport, Assam said that they have deployed officials at both the banks in order to manage the devotees and prevent any accidents.

City police have also stepped up the security in and across the premises of Umananda Temple for Maha Shivratri.
