GUWAHATI: In response to the persistently rising temperatures and scorching heatwave in the region, the District Commissioner of Kamrup Metro district has issued an order to reschedule the normal school timings for all Government, Provincialised, and private schools. The decision, aimed at safeguarding the wellbeing of the public, will be effective from tomorrow.
As per the latest order received from the District Commissioner, the new school timings for various categories of schools are as follows:
Lower Primary (L.P.) Schools: 7:30 AM to 12:00 Noon
Middle English (M.E.) Schools: 7:30 AM to 12:30 PM
Higher Secondary (H.S.) / H.S. Schools: 7:30 AM to 01:00 PM
Additionally, all schools have been instructed to conduct their morning assembly sessions inside the classrooms or in shaded areas to protect students from the scorching heat during this period.
The order, signed by the Inspector of Schools /DEEO(i/c) cum District Mission coordinator of Kamrup Metro, will remain in force until August 15.
