GUWAHATI: A 22-year-old woman, Sonali Das, was stabbed in Hatigaon on Friday, January 10 around 5:20 pm in an alleged attempt to murder.

Talking to GPlus, an official from Hatigaon police station said, "The accused, identified as 40-year-old Ajijul Hoque from Dhubri, reportedly attacked her with a knife after stalking her for some time."
He further added, "Hoque fled the scene after the assault but was soon caught by an angry mob. He was beaten up and sustained injuries before being rescued by the police. Hoque is currently undergoing treatment at Health City Hospital."
