RTA Conducts Drives Against Unruly Dumpers, Seizes 27 in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: The Regional Transport Authority (RTA) conducted yet another drive against unruly dumpers and trucks plying in the city on Sunday, March 15.

A team from the transport department conducted a drive from 10:00 PM till 3:00 AM in the morning hours of March 16.

Speaking to G Plus, DTO (Licensing), Kamrup (M) Arun Bora said, "We are reguarly conducting these drives against dumpurs and trucks and previously also we seized their vehicles."

"Yesterday we seized around 27 dumpers and trucks of which majority of the vehicles were plying without proper tax documents and Fitness Certificates, " he added.

The dumpers were carrying sand, stones and also construction materials. The DTO has further asked the vehicle owners to update all their necessay documents and ply safely on the road to avoid any mishaps.

It is to be mentioned that few of the dumpers where operating without a number plate and penalty was imposed on them and has been directed to use high secuirty number plate from the RTA.

All the seized vehicles are currently been kept in ISBT.
