GUWAHATI: An additional allocation of ₹116.20 crore has been approved for the upgrade of road infrastructure between the VIP Junction and Dharapur in Guwahati.

This was announced by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma following a state cabinet meeting held on Wednesday, December 4.
This decision comes in preparation for the seamless operation of the upcoming Integrated Terminal of the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International (LGBI) Airport, which is expected to be operational soon, and is poised to handle over 13 million passengers annually.
The approved funds increase the project budget from the initial ₹358 crore to ₹474 crore, ensuring the timely completion of the necessary infrastructure improvements.
Other key decisions taken in the cabinet meeting include the conversion of 97 Sanskrit and Pali Tolas across the state into special schools, and a minor reshuffle of the Assam ministry on Saturday, December 7.
