Reshuffle In Assam Cabinet, Two New Ministers Inducted: Here's The Full List

 

GUWAHATI: The Assam Cabinet expansion and reshuffle was announced on Thursday, May 9, by Assam Chief Minister (CM) Himanta Biswa Sarma. The oath-taking ceremony was held at the Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakshetra in Guwahati. 

The two new ministers added to the 14-member Assam Cabinet today are Nandita Gorlosa, MLA Haflong and Nalbari MLA, Jayanta Mallabaruah.

There has been major changes in the Cabinet portfolios as the new Ministers share seven ministries among them.

 

In an exchange of ministries, the Transport Department under Chandra Mohan Patowary has been given to Parimal Suklabaidya and his Environment and Forest Department has been allotted to Patowary.

Nandita Gorlosa has been allotted four ministries and they are - Power Department, Cooperation Department, Mines and Minerals Department, and Indigenous and Tribal Faith and Culture Department. 

Meanwhile, Jayanta Mallabaruah has been allotted three ministries and they are - Public Health Engineering Department, Skill Employment & Entrepreneurship Department, and Tourism Department.

Former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President and Minister, Ranjeet Kumar Dass had to lose the Public Health and Engineering portfolio which has been allotted to Jayanta Mallabaruah

Minister Bimal Borah had to lose two ministries.The Tourism Ministry has been alloted to Jayanta Mallabaruah and the Power Department has been allotted to Nandita Gorlosa from Bimal Borah.
