GUWAHATI: The 1st phase of the Panchayat Polls turned sour in a few districts in Assam with cases being registered of manhandling of ballot boxes and criminal activities.
The Assam Election Commission issued an order of re-polling in 43 centres across Assam. It is to be mentioned that re-polling is being held in 15 centres across the state on Friday, 7th December.

Polling will be conducted again on December 10 at the remaining 28 centres in Lakhimpur. Various anomalies in voters lists, ballot papers had led to the cancellation of polling at several centres.
