Railway Protection Force Of NF Railway Seizes Cannabis Worth Rs 20 Lakh

GUWAHATI: The Railway Protection Force (RPF) of the Northeast Frontier (NF) Railway recovered around 158 kgs of cannabis (ganja) worth over Rs 20 lakh during their routine checking at different railway stations and trains over the last week. 

On March 25, the RPF team at Guwahati Railway Station conducted a drive against contraband articles and arrested two persons. During the raid, the team recovered around 6.4 kgs of cannabis worth approximately Rs 64 thousand.

The RPF team at Lumding Railway Station on the same day recovered around 10 kgs of cannabis worth approximately Rs 1 lakh. In another incident, the team from Lumding recovered around 38 kgs of cannabis worth around Rs 3.80 lakh from the railway station.

Additionally, the RPF team at Badarpur Railway Station recovered 11.30 kgs of ganja worth around Rs 1.13 lakh on the same day.

On March 22, the RPF at Agartala Railway Station during routine checking seized 43 kgs of ganja worth approximately Rs 4.30 lakh. Similarly, the RPF team of Agartala recovered 38 kgs of ganja worth Rs 3.80 lakh at Jirania Railway Station.

In another incident on the same day, a team of RPF at the Dharmanagar Railway Station seized around 40 kgs of ganja worth approximately Rs 4 lakh, and the RPF team in Badarpur recovered around 14 kgs of ganja worth around Rs 1.40 lakh in between Kalkalighat and Patharkandi section.
