GUWAHATI: The Assam Cabinet has approved plans to seek UNESCO World Heritage status for Majuli and Sivasagar, aiming to celebrate and preserve the state's rich cultural heritage on Sunday, March 9. Experts shall be engaged to facilitate the application under appropriate categories.

Furthermore, the Cabinet has also given the green light for the establishment of a new Industrial Park, including a Smart township, in Hajo, Kamrup. Additionally, land has been allotted for the development of "Mega Industrial Parks" in Kamrup and Morigaon districts. These initiatives are expected to enhance Assam's industrial ecosystem and attract investors to the region.
