PepsiCo India to Establish Rs 400 Cr Manufacturing Project in Assam

GUWAHATI: PepsiCo India is set to establish a Rs 400 crore manufacturing project in Assam for producing Kurkure corn puffs and Lays potato chips.

As per reports, Assam industries and commerce minister Chandra Mohan Patowary met a delegation of PepsiCo India in Guwahati on Wednesday, February 26.           

The FMCG giant will allegedly train farmers of Assam wherein the company would provide seeds to farmers and will buy back their matured farm produce.

Patowary asked the officials to take the necessary steps to ensure that the project is implemented as soon as possible.

On the other hand, Indian Oil will also invest Rs 400 crores in the northeast region for transition to Bharat Stage VI fuel. Officials informed that the change to Bharat Stage VI fuel will help reduce pollution.
