The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) had decided to add 760 additional seats in 4 trains plying in the region, stated a press release issued by NFR on Friday.
One air conditioned 1st class coach will be added in the Donyi Polo Express train, which will run between Guwahati and Naharlagun from May 17. Additionally, four general class coaches were added on the fast passenger train which runs between Guwahati and Silchar from Friday.
Apart from these additions, two additional general class coaches will be added in the passenger trains running between Silchar and Agartala from June 1, while two additional general coaches will be added in the passenger train in running between Agartala and Dharmanagar from June 2.
Chief Public Relations Officer Pranav Jyoti Sharma in the press release said that during the last two financial years, more than 8,000 additional berths have been added through permanent attachment of coaches in different trains running in the region.
