EVM Distribution Underway At Maniram Dewan Trade Center Ahead Of Polling

 

GUWAHATI: Preparations for the upcoming elections are in full swing as the Maniram Dewan Trade Center gears up for the distribution of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) to polling officers. Joint Commissioner of Police, Thube Prateek Vijay Kumar, briefed the assembled officers from both the police and election officials on the proceedings.

A total of 393 vehicles have been enlisted for the task, ensuring smooth logistics for the distribution process. Among these vehicles are 105 buses, 95 big traveler buses, 128 small travelers, and 65 Tata Sumos, along with 40 shuttle services ferrying cars from Maniram Dewan to ISBT.

Additionally, 20 e-rickshaws have been allocated to carry EVMs from the ISBT main gate to the designated parking area.

In this effort, 20 buses have been designated for picking up polling personnel from various locations across Guwahati, streamlining their transportation to the Trade Center.

With the engagement of almost 150 officials, including both police and election staff, the operation is expected to run efficiently.

The distribution of EVMs marks a crucial step in the electoral process, ensuring that polling stations are equipped for the upcoming elections, so that the citizens experience a smooth voting experience.
