GUWAHATI: The Assam government on March 23 ordered lockdown of the state. In a media briefing, state health minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma said that under the lock down period no commercial or private vehicles will ply on the road till March 31st.
The lockdown will start from 6 PM of 24th Mar till 31st March.
However emergency services like ambulances will continue to ply on the street. Further, essential service providers will be allowed to remain open.

Lock Down means people cannot come out of the house along with all religious activities will also come to a stand still.
"In all temples, namghar, masjid- only 3 people will be allowed to enter to do the rituals," the minister added.
