NFR To Introduce Four Diesel Special Joyrides On Darjeeling Himalayan Railway

GUWAHATI: The Indian Railways has announced the operation of four Diesel Special Joyrides on the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway (DHR) between Darjeeling and Ghum. To accommodate the surge in passenger traffic during its peak season, these additional trains will commence from October 21 to December 5.

The four Joyrides will operate daily with each train making a round trip between the two locations.

Train No. 02547 will depart from Darjeeling at 9:20 AM and arrive in Ghum at 10:05 AM. The return journey will commence from Ghum at 10:25 AM, reaching Darjeeling at 10:55 AM.

Similarly, Train No. 02548 will depart from Darjeeling at 11:25 AM, arriving in Ghum at 12:10 PM. The return trip will be at 12:30 PM, reaching Darjeeling at 1:00 PM.

As for Train No. 02549, it will depart from Darjeeling at 1:25 PM, arriving in Ghum at 2:10 PM. The return trip will be at 2:35 PM, reaching Darjeeling at 3:05 PM.

Finally, Train No. 02550 will depart from Darjeeling at 3:30 PM, arriving in Ghum at 4:15 PM. The return trip will be at 4:35 PM, reaching Darjeeling at 5:05 PM.

All four Diesel Special Joyrides will be equipped with three first-class chair car coaches, offering a comfortable and scenic journey. Each coach will have seating capacity for 29 or 30 passengers.
