GUWAHATI: Border Security Force (BSF) personnel from the 138 Battalion apprehended a smuggler near the Indo-Bangladesh border on Tuesday, Oct 15. The individual was caught attempting to traffic prohibited cough syrup across the border into Bangladesh.

Upon investigation, they found him carrying a significant quantity of the restricted cough syrup, commonly used as an illegal intoxicant.
BSF Guwahati shared a post on 'X' saying about the operation, "In drive to combat transborder smuggling, alert #Bordermen of 138 Bn #BSF apprehended an Indian smuggler attempting to traffic prohibited cough syrup to Bangladesh at the Indo-Bangladesh border."
