Sangma took to Twitter on Monday, March 24 to express his gratitude, thanking NTA officials and Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan for their cooperation.

"Happy that NTA has shifted most of the students of Meghalaya from the Guwahati centre to the Shillong centre after the intervention of the State Government. Thanks to the officials of NTA and Hon'ble @dpradhanbjp ji for his continuous support and understanding," he stated.

This follows Sangma’s appeal to the Ministry of Education and the NTA on March 17, urging them to address the difficulties faced by students assigned to Guwahati-based examination centres. In his social media post, the Chief Minister had highlighted the logistical and financial challenges, particularly for students from remote parts of the state.

This decision follows Sangma's appeal on March 17 to the Ministry of Education and the NTA, addressing the challenges faced by students assigned to Guwahati-based examination centres. In an earlier social media post, he wrote, "Requested @EduMinOfIndia & @NTA_Exams to intervene in allotting #CUET examination centres within Meghalaya for our students. Many students are being assigned Guwahati centres, causing inconvenience. Hopeful that the issue will be resolved."
