In a bizzare incident, a new born baby girl was found abandoned on the National Highway-37 in Nazirakhat near Sonapur on Wednesday morning.
An official said that the baby draped in a blanket was shifted to the 200 beded Sonapur District Hospital by an ASHA worker for treatment.
Locals have suspected that the baby might have been dropped from a vehicle moving towards Guwahati from Jagiroad side.

A doctor at the facility said the baby is under special attention of the hospital.
Police is trying to identify the parents of the baby, said the official.
