GUWAHATI: Antarrashtriya Hindu Parishad (AHP) president Praveen Togadia announced a new political party on February 9 in New Delhi. The new political party has also announced its state unit in Assam on 2nd March 2019.

In a meeting at ITA Machkhowa, Togadia revealed that Hindustan Nirman Dal (HND) – the new political party - will contest in 2019 Lok Sabha elections and field members of parliament (MP) contestants across the country.

A source in HND said, “Many members of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Congress and Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) are joining HND and many senior party workers are among the new joiners.” The source did not reveal the names of the BJP, Congress and AGP members but said that the names will be revealed soon.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) might be playing the Hindu card by raising the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill 2016 issue, but a group of Hindus have united in the country including Guwahati and Assam and have formed a new political party to contest against Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s party in 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

After quitting Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), the Hindu right wing leader Pravin Togadia formed a new Hindu organisation - Antrarashtriya Hindu Parishad (AHP) – and now the organisation has announced its political party on February 9 in New Delhi, and on 2nd March in Assam.

The HND source said that in no way Togadia’s party will ever ally with the BJP as according to him BJP neglected its main ideology of Ram Mandir nirmaan (construction).

The HND is, at present, on a major recruitment drive and aims at “1 booth 25 youth”. The source said, “5 lakh people have already joined HND in Assam and around 30,000 in Guwahati.” All the members will work for the political party which was  announced on 9th February 2019.

The way HND has members in Assam; many members are joining the party across the India.

The HND is in talks with many BJP leaders in the country including Assam. “Many BJP leaders will join HND soon,” the source revealed.
