GUWAHATI: Nani Gopal Mahanta has been appointed as the 18th Vice-Chancellor of Gauhati University.

An academician and political scientist, Mahanta is also the Education Advisor to the Government of Assam
He earlier served as a professor in the Department of Political Science at Gauhati University and has a diverse academic background.
