GUWAHATI: The Assam Cabinet on Sunday, October 27, approved a Memorandum of Understanding with Reliance Bio-Energy Limited as part of its move towards a green energy regime.

This agreement aims to promote the compressed biogas sector in the state and will lead to the establishment of a network of integrated compressed biogas infrastructure.
The initiative ensures to reduce pollution caused by fossil fuels without endangering food security.
It is also expected to create employment opportunities and income for farmers by developing a biovalue chain ecosystem.
