GUWAHATI: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday, May 3, reviewed the final preparations for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test - Undergraduate (NEET-UG) 2025, to be held on May 4. In the meeting, he reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring a fair and transparent examination process across the state.

“Reviewed last minute preparations before tomorrow's #NEET2025 exams,” Sarma posted via his social media handle on X. “We are enforcing strict measures this time to ensure no malpractice and selection of only deserving candidates in this exam.”
The chief minister added that special monitoring teams led by senior officials have been deployed to all districts to supervise the conduct of the exam.
The review has arrived after earlier concerns rose regarding alleged malpractices at private examination centres in previous years. In response, the state government has implemented a series of measures, including the relocation of most NEET-UG centres to government or government-aided institutions. The decision, according to officials, was taken to uphold the integrity of the examination process and promote merit-based selection.
Comprehensive verification mechanisms, including Aadhaar and biometric authentication, have been introduced as part of the enhanced security measures for this year’s examination. District administrations and police officials, including police superintendents and deputy commissioners, have also been tasked with implementing surveillance protocols.
